The mission of this club is for students to learn the fundamentals of the stock market investment through participation in online competition. The website that provides the competition, PersonalFinanceLab.com, also provides educational modules, and club members are incentivized to complete these. Mr. Hoffman was a former investment professional, and supplements meetings with simple introductory lectures on investment terminology and fundamentals. There are roughly 10 members. The club meets 1-2 times a month, primarily in the evening. Mr. Hoffman states that the goals for this year are for “student presentations of researched investment ideas, followed by discussion.”
