Handwriting

All students at Wildwood work toward mastery of the D'Nealian style of handwriting.

The D'Nealian Handwriting Program is "a true original" because:

  • It is the first program to offer a continuous stroke method of handwriting.
  • Lower-case manuscript letters have the same form as their cursive counterparts.
  • There is a continuous skill progression.
  • There is emphasis on legibility rather than conformity.
  • Its manuscript letter formation is a true preparation for cursive handwriting.
  • It provides motivation for students who like the grown-up look of the manuscript letters.
