Student Government Association (SGA)

Club / Activity: Student Government Association (SGA)

Advisor(s): Jared Barbin ([email protected]) and Drew Krumholz ([email protected])

The Mountain Lakes High School Student Government Association serves as the
voice of the student body as a whole and focuses on ensuring a positive school
climate and helping MLHS to the best of its ability. There are currently 24 members in the SGA. The SGA meets monthly as well as when needed during the school day (on a rotating schedule of periods so that members don’t miss the same class repeatedly). The Club highlights and/or accomplishments from last year were:

1. New charging station
2. New lost and found
3. Homecoming court facilitation
4. Homecoming dance
5. Talent show
6. Community blood drive
7. A television to display announcements and more

Mr. Barbin and Mr. Krumholz state that the goals for this year are to “Host the Homecoming dance and Homecoming court facilitation, bring back the tradition of the Bonfire, host a Talent show, allow Senior to paint their Parking spot, and expand the the blood drive. We have also created a new student leadership position called the Student Liaison to the BOE.”
