If a transcript or recommendation is required for the program, please complete the Document Request Form (available HERE). If you need your School Counselor to write a letter of recommendation, please submit this form three weeks before the application deadline. If a counselor recommendation is not required, this form is due one week before the application deadline.
* A note on summer programs: The Washington Post does a good job discussing the pros and cons of pre-college programs here. They can be a great opportunity to explore an interest in a way you can't access in high school. They can also provide you with a taste of what it's like to live in a dorm away from home, and may help you figure out what kind of school you want to attend: big city vs. bucolic college town; liberal arts college vs. research university. That being said, they don't offer a "special edge" on college applications and often come with a hefty price tag.

AEOP High School Apprenticeship: spend your summer in a university research lab or in one of the U.S. Army Research Laboratories and Centers through this unique apprenticeship opportunity. High School students work one-on-one with a university researcher or DoD scientist mentor during this authentic science and engineering research apprenticeship. Learn more here.
ASU Summer Journalism Institute: The Cronkite School’s flagship camp, the Summer Journalism Institute guides top-performing high school students in intensive, hands-on experiences in broadcast and digital journalism. Participants will spend two weeks fully immersed in reporting and writing stories, producing newscasts and creating multimedia content. The program is free for accepted students. Learn more here.
Babson Summer Study is a 4-week experiential online program for rising high school juniors and seniors to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and become innovators and changemakers. By strengthening your understanding of the United Nation's Global Goals, you will develop the competencies and confidence to address problems, seize opportunities, and create change that leads to your desired future. Bank of America Student Leaders: As a Student Leader, you will participate in an 8 week paid internship at a local nonprofit organization. You will also attend the Student Leaders Summit held in Washington, D.C. where you will learn how government, business and the nonprofit sector work together to address critical community needs. Barnard’s Office of Pre-College Programs invites young women from across the globe to join us in one of our academic enrichment programs in the humanities, STEM, leadership, writing, coding and more. Students who apply by January 17th have no application fee. Learn more here.
Bentley Wall Street 101: is a competitive experiential learning program for rising high school juniors and seniors interested in global finance and investing, including stocks, bonds, currencies and commodities. The sessions introduce students to the art and science of trading, investing, and managing a portfolio. In small classes led by Bentley-trained faculty with industry experience, students participate in lectures, case analyses, interactive trading simulations and presentations by Wall Street professionals. Bossgirls: You’ll join a community of other bossgirls like yourself to discover entrepreneurship. You and a team of other bossgirls will focus on a problem, come up with an innovative solution for it, research the market, compare competitors, learn how to price your product & prototype it, and create a brand around your idea. At the end of the program, you’ll pitch your idea to a virtual audience--think Shark Tank without the sharks. Bossgirls Summer 2022 is expected to be a hybrid program, taking place both virtually and in-person. We plan to hold most workshops and lectures online, but have some activities take place in person at The City College of New York. Bucknell Academy Summer Experience (BASE): Rising high school juniors and seniors spend a week living like a college student. BASE participants join Bucknell faculty and students to find innovative solutions to pressing issues. Perhaps you'll team up with environmental engineers and global managers to create better technology for clean water. Or maybe you'll collaborate with performing artists and biomedical engineers to reimagine prosthetics used by actors or musicians. Carnegie Mellon no cost programs: for rising juniors and seniors who demonstrate financial need. AI4All @ Carnegie Mellon (provides opportunities for students who have been historically excluded in STEM to study artificial intelligence). Computer Science Scholars (provides students who have historically been excluded in the field of computer science an opportunity to explore the field of computer science). Summer Academy for Math and Science (allows students from underrepresented communities to develop a deeper understanding of STEM).
Case Western Reserve Pre-College Program: designed for high school students ages 13 and up. Each course features video lessons by Case Western Reserve instructors and access to mentors. Courses are offered in Engineering, Neuroscience, Computer Science, and more. Learn more here.

Fordham Summer Business Programs: Fordham
University’s Gabelli School of Business offers three
unique summer programs (in entrepreneurship, finance,
and global finance) designed specifically for high school

Iacocca Global Entrepreneurship Intensive at Lehigh University: Brings high school sophomores and juniors together from all regions of the world for 4 weeks to live and learn together at Lehigh. IU Meet Educate Experience Transition to Kelley: MEET Kelley is a unique pre-college summer program for high-ability students to get introduced to the Kelley School of Business, learn about the opportunities available, experience a professional business case competition, and ultimately consider transitioning to Kelley after high school. IU Young Women’s Institute: introduces young women to the college experience and business career opportunities. Students are selected from around the country to spend a week at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. The Young Women’s Institute is a selective program open to women finishing their junior year of high school (rising seniors). A minimum GPA of a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale is required. The program is funded by the Kelley School of Business and corporate partner EY. Participants need to cover only transportation to and from Bloomington and personal expenses. Learn more here.
Kenyon Young Writers Summer Online Workshops: offer an intimate setting for exploring ideas, producing fresh work, discussing the craft of writing (and rewriting) with instructors and other students, and finding one’s voice in a variety of genres, including short stories, poems, and essays. Students ages 16-18 are welcome to apply.
Landmark College Summer Programs: assist a wide range of students with learning differences, including high school students, graduating high school seniors, and students enrolled at colleges around the country. MIT Online Science, Technology, and Engineering Community (MOSTEC): serves rising high school seniors from across the country – many of whom come from underrepresented or underserved communities. Students selected to participate in MOSTEC demonstrate in their applications a strong academic record and interest in science and engineering. The MOSTEC program begins the summer before students' senior year in high school and extends through students' first semester in 12th grade. MOSTEC has both in-person and online components. National Youth Science Camp: is a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) program designed to honor and challenge some of the nation’s rising leaders and provide them with opportunities to engage with STEM professionals and participate in exciting outdoor activities. Two delegates are selected to attend camp from each state and the District of Columbia. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior. Learn more here.
Notre Dame Summer Scholars: Summer Scholars participants spend two intensive weeks in one of 25 exciting programs of study. The coursework is a true preview of college academics—it is both rigorous and rewarding, and students earn one college credit upon the completion of a program track. NovaEdge Diversity in Engineering: a five-day program that introduces a diverse
population of students from different ethnic and social
backgrounds to the traditional fields of engineering,
including Chemical, Civil and Environmental, Computer
and Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. The
program is open to rising sophomore, junior and senior

NYU GSTEM: A summer research program for talented,
STEM-savvy high schoolers who want to learn in an
inclusive, supportive environment. The program is open
to current juniors (outstanding sophomores will be

Pace University Precollege Immersion Program is an
intensive two-week program designed for rising high
school juniors and seniors. Students can choose from
five academic tracks: Business, Digital Film Production,
Environmental Studies, Psychology or Theater Arts.
Students who complete this program and are
subsequently admitted to Pace as an undergraduate will
receive three general credits toward their degree, as
well as a yearly $3,000 scholarship. Apply here.
Parsons Paris: has created online courses for students 13 and up to introduce you to this vibrant field. Taught by experts in Paris fashion through video lectures, courses cover everything from business, history, and trends to actual design methods and potential careers. Learn more here.

Rochester Institute of Technology’s Explore Your Future: EYF is a week-long, on-campus summer program for college-bound deaf and hard-of-hearing high school students who will enter their junior or senior year in fall 2022. During EYF, students learn how their interests can lead them to a career, and they explore career options in various fields, including the arts, business, computers, engineering, science, and more. Rutgers Pre-College Summer Academies are two-week
certificate programs designed for high school students
ages 16-18. Students can select from the Engineering,
Leadership, Physical Therapy, or Law Academy

School of the New York Times Summer Academy: Dive deep into subject matter that interests you while sharpening skills that will propel your academic and professional future. Each course is designed to developyour intellectual curiosity to help you think critically about the world. Courses are taught by New York Times journalists and thought leaders from different industries who bring real-world expertise into the classroom and an ability to inspire young people. Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies: Our programs feature a wide variety of disciplines—including business, computer science, humanities, math, science, social justice, and more—allowing students to investigate advanced topics beyond the typical high school curriculum. Stevens Institute of Technology, School of Business: is offering a paid virtual summer research program for juniors. In this six-week program, students will have the opportunity to work alongside a faculty member and assist them with research in their area of study such as entrepreneurship, marketing, management, economics, and finance. At the conclusion of the program, students will complete both a written and oral presentation. It will run from July 1 - August 12 and students will receive a $500 stipend after completing the program. Apply by February 1 by emailing the following to Ms. Hartelius, [email protected]. Include: Name, Email Address, High School, 1-page essay in which you describe yourself and detail what you hope to gain from this experience, Resume, Transcript, and a Letter of recommendation (from a teacher, a guidance counselor, or a work supervisor).
Summer at Hopkins: Led by innovative and dedicated Johns Hopkins instructors, these programs will help you connect with like-minded peers from around the world. Summer Engineering Exploration Camp: is a one week, co-ed camp for high school students entering grades 10-12 who are interested in engineering. This camp is hosted by the Society of Women Engineers at the University of Michigan in order to help the students learn about various engineering disciplines and industries as well as learn more about engineering at the University of Michigan. The Summer Science Program offers teens an exhilarating and inspiring immersion into hands-on experimental science. Each team completes a real research project, taking and analyzing original data. In 2022 we will operate six programs: three in Astrophysics: research in near-earth asteroid orbit determination at New Mexico Tech, Univ. of Colorado Boulder, and Univ. of North Carolina Chapel Hill; two in Biochemistry: research in fungal crop pathogens at Purdue Univ. and Indiana University; one in Genomics: research in evolution of antibiotic resistance, also at Purdue. SSP is open to current high school juniors (and a few truly exceptional sophomores) who have completed the pre-requisites by summer, and will be at least 15 years old. Learn more here.

UC Santa Barbara's Summer Research Programs: The Research Mentorship Program is a competitive, six-week summer program that engages qualified, high-achieving high school students from all over the world in interdisciplinary, hands-on, university-level research. Students will be paired up with a mentor and choose a research project from a large list of disciplines offered by the program each year. Summer Research Academies offer a dynamic, 4-week summer experience that introduces qualified high school students to the research enterprise through project-based, directed research in STEM, Humanities, and Social Sciences fields. Students will take a university course in which they choose and develop a research topic specific to the track they select, under the direction of an instructor who is conducting active research in that field.
UMass Amherst Juniper Institute for Young Writers: In association with the MFA Program for Poets and Writers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, our summer programs have been changing the lives of young writers for sixteen years. We provide a pre-college experience for teens who love writing poems and stories, want to meet like-minded peers, and yearn for mentorship from professional writers and teachers.
University of Chicago’s Summer Pre-College Programs: Through workshop discussions, research projects, and other activities, students live on campus and immerse themselves within a specific topic through three-week-long undergraduate-level courses for pre-college students designed by UChicago faculty and instructors. Course subjects include astrophysics, biotechnology, coding, literature, molecular engineering, political science, and more. Learn more here. UChicago also offers a Summer Language Institute. Through this online program, students can learn an entire year of a language in one summer! Talented and motivated students have the opportunity to enroll in a college-level course free of charge through our scholarship programs, such as Police & Fire Summer Scholars (for students with a parent employed by a police or fire department).
University of Delaware: has a variety of pre-college programs - some give students experience working in a particular field, others allow them to earn college credit, while a few cover SAT/ACT prep. University of Massachusetts Summer Pre-College Programs: Our programs offer high school students an opportunity to explore their academic interests and experience life on a college campus. Both online and in-person programs are available, at UMass Amherst and at the UMass Mt. Ida campus in Newton, MA. In addition to popular existing programs like Equine Science, the Sport Management & Leadership Academy, the Summer Engineering Institute, and the Summer Design Academy, we have added programs in several new topics like 3D Animation, Veterinary Technology, and Race & American Politics. Wisconsin’s Badger Summer Scholars & Accelerated Learning Program: Badger Summer Scholars is a two-week program in which students attend a college-level seminar in a topic of their choice, taught by UW-Madison instructors. Students also participate in the Jump Forward series, a workshop series on how to prepare for college, including topics on the admissions process, navigating college, career exploration and more.
